With NSW schools required to prove curriculum alignment, our latest feature update makes it possible to see how each Learning Journey module aligns with the NSW regional curriculum.
The New South Wales Department of Education, Australia's largest public education provider, sets the curriculum for years K–12 for the state's public schools. On January 1, 2024, the department implemented the 2024 School Registration Reform, which required that all NSW schools "demonstrate evidence of alignment between NESA syllabuses and the school’s curriculum documentation."
Reclaiming this time is crucial for teacher workload.
Crucially, teachers using Toolbox can now save even more time on this compliance documentation. Learning Journey modules—across all year levels—include accessible pop-ups detailing their alignment with NSW state-based curriculum requirements. Simply view the Learning Journey Manager for a class in your School Admin page, and click the pink "i" button to view. See a quick summary of the Learning Journey module, along with citations for relevant knowledge and practice clauses.
These curriculum links are already popular with teachers in New Zealand and Australia, for national Education Ministry standards. Expect region-specific curriculum links to be added for other Australian states in the coming months.

Reclaiming this time is crucial for teacher workload. As teachers struggle with administrative workload globally, tools that provide evidence of curriculum compliance reclaim time for teacher-student relationships. Assured of curriculum alignment, teachers put more of their attention toward developing activities, uplifting students, and restoring some work-life balance. Everyone wins.
